⚠️ Interim Terms — Draft, Pending Full Legal Review
This is a temporary, good-faith version of our Terms of Service, published while SproutHunt is still in early development with no live vendors or payments yet. It will be reviewed by an attorney and replaced with a final version before real transactions occur on the platform. Effective date: July 3, 2026.
Terms of Service
1. What SproutHunt Is
SproutHunt is a directory and discovery platform that connects shoppers with local farmers, growers, and makers. We help people find each other — we are not a party to any sale, trade, or barter arrangement made between a shopper and a vendor. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or fulfillment of any product, service, or exchange arranged through listings on SproutHunt. Any transaction — cash, card, or barter — is strictly between the shopper and the vendor.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a vendor account or an admin account on SproutHunt. Browsing the public directory and map does not require an account.
3. Vendor Responsibilities
If you list a stand, shop, or offering on SproutHunt, you are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of your listing, offerings, pricing, and contact information
- Complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws that apply to what you sell or trade — including food-safety rules, cottage-food laws, health permits, and business licensing. SproutHunt does not verify, certify, or vouch for any vendor’s legal compliance.
- Any tax obligations arising from your sales or bartered exchanges (see Section 6)
- Honoring whatever arrangement you make directly with a shopper
4. Content You Upload
By uploading photos, descriptions, or other content to SproutHunt, you confirm you have the right to share it, and you grant SproutHunt a non-exclusive license to display it on the platform for the purpose of operating your listing. You can remove your content at any time by deleting it from your dashboard or asking us to remove it. If you believe content on SproutHunt infringes your copyright, contact us (see Section 10) with the details and we will address it.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
Vendor subscription tiers (Free, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3) are billed to vendors only — SproutHunt does not process payments between shoppers and vendors for goods or services. Paid tiers renew on a recurring basis until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We will make cancellation at least as easy as sign-up. Pricing is shown on the site and may change with reasonable advance notice to existing subscribers.
6. Bartering
SproutHunt’s “Open to Barter” feature only helps shoppers discover vendors willing to trade goods or services instead of (or alongside) cash sales. We do not mediate, guarantee, or take any responsibility for the outcome of a barter arrangement. Bartering may have tax implications for both parties (the IRS generally treats the fair market value of bartered goods/services as taxable income) — this is not tax advice, and you should consult a tax professional about your own situation.
7. Our Right to Remove Content or Accounts
We may suspend or remove any listing, photo, or account that violates these terms, misrepresents a vendor, or that we reasonably believe is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful to other users.
8. Limitation of Liability
SproutHunt is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, SproutHunt and its owners are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including any transaction, product, or interaction with a vendor or shopper you connect with through the site.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
10. Contact & Changes
We may update these terms as SproutHunt develops; material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date. Questions about these terms? Reach us at support@sprouthunt.com.
